Tuna Noodle Casserole ...

Being a new wife means I'm still trying to figure out what all that title encompasses -- like, cooking dinner.

Now - I'm not the best cook, friends know it and I don't deny it.  I love to bake {I think I take after my mom here} but cooking, not so much.  But, I have become better at experimenting and trying new things - and it doesn't hurt that the hubs will eat anything {and yes I mean anything} so no food goes to waste.

What's even better is using some of our new dishes - like this baking dish used tonight that my mother-in-law gifted us.

Yes, it's joy in the little things like actually using NEW dishes instead of hand me downs :)

In becoming a better cook I've made it my goal to try a new recipe once a week.  So far, I've kept to this challenge - and tonight I cooked another new recipe I have yet to try.  This is one that brings back so many memories of my mom making growing up - and lets be honest, some of my momma's cookin' sounded so yummy right now!

So I give you - Tuna Noodle Casserole

I have to say - it was delish!  A little different than what my mom used to make {I didn't have her actual recipe} but good none the less!  The hubs liked it - in fact he went back for seconds ... and thirds ... and finished off the dish. :)

This wife role is fun, and cooking for the hubs has actually become enjoyable - even if he does put siracha sauce on everything ...

Tuna Noodle Casserole

What you need:
1 can (10 3/4 oz) Condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 cup frozen peas
2 cans (6oz each) tuna
2 cups hot cooked medium egg noodles
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

The Process:
1. Stir the soup, milk, peas, tuna, & noodles in a 1 1/2 quart casserole
2. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, stir
3. Sprinkle cheese over tuna mixture, bake for 2 minutes or until cheese melts
4. Enjoy!

It says that this will serve 4 people {unless your hubs eats like mine!}

Pumpkin Carving ...

One of my favorite things about Halloween is carving pumpkins.  Yes, I could go without dressing up {although this year I have a pretty awesome costume coming together!} but the pumpkins and the pumpkin seeds --- now those I just can't do without!

The Hubs and I have carved pumpkins together before, in fact I remember our first adventure - back when we were dating and I was living at home with the parents.  He ventured up to TC for us to carve away.  We of course both tried to do some detailed carvings back then ---- and continue to every year.

Would this year be any different?  Of course not ...

Except that the hubs tried edging out the pumpkin more than previous years ---- and ... power tools were even involved ...

I have to say the end result was pretty cool - and I'm sure our nephew will appreciate the transformer more than my simple carved face.

Another fun evening in the books ... this married life is pretty fun :)

Giving it a go ...

I've always been a blogger, a love of words and expressing myself - beginning way back in 2005 documenting my college shenanigans, continuing with the job search struggles, finally landing my dream job after 4 years, and meeting the man of my dreams.

When I look at my old blog - the last post with the hubs and my engagement pictures.  I always had this grand idea of blogging throughout planning our wedding and documenting life as newlyweds.

Here I am now, feeling inspired - we are at Day 131 of marriage {yes I keep track with a picture a day via Instagram} and I have yet to start the new blog.  In the beginning I felt like there wouldn't be much to write about as a childless married couple and that life was too busy with our careers to come home and blog at night - but I've quickly discovered that our life is still interesting {and I'm sure my mom would like an update or two of what we're up to!} and even when life gets busy, I need to make the time for things I enjoy doing.

So here it is, a beginning - the grammar may not be perfect and the content not always the most inspiring - but I'm giving it a go.  Knowing that down the road I will be so happy to look back on our life as newlyweds and beyond.

Here we are world wide web, The Webbs.
