Two weeks in ...

As I sit here in the family room and hear the hubs reading to Ellary on her monitor, I can't help but think how much our life has changed in the last two weeks.  It is hard to remember life without sweet Ellary Elizabeth in it ...

She has been such a good baby **knock on wood** and I find myself often telling the hubs just how lucky we are and that things can change so we better not jinx ourselves ;)

We've had a busy two weeks with walks on nice days - visitors stopping by - doctor visits {she was back to her exact birth weight at her two week check up - hooray!} - and even one last baby shower ;)

Otis has been a champ throughout this transition.  We joke that he is probably more sleep deprived than us since he's pretty protective of his little sis and is checking on her constantly ;)

Ellary is awake a little bit more every day.  Everyone always asks us if she just sleeps all day - and she pretty much does. Everyone wants to see her eyes so we get excited when we have a little bit of awake time with her right now :)

Ellary had been taking naps in her crib during the day - but when she was two weeks old {so yesterday!} she officially started sleeping in her crib at night.  It's safe to say I think all parties involved got a better night sleep with her in her own room ;)

We had her newborn pictures taken and it was amazing to see Tonya in her element being the baby whisperer.  Ellary was zonked out the entire time and was a champ! We cannot wait to see the final photos!

I honestly never knew I could love something so little so much - she brings so much joy to our life in only these short two weeks ... even Otis is oh so smitten with her!

And so were our special visitors this week - when my sister and her family came to meet their new cousin/niece.  Easton was pretty adorable with her - Ellary kept tooting when Addi was holding her which brought all sorts of laughs, and Kylynn is just a babysitter in training!

We officially celebrated our first holiday too - one we didn't think we'd have a baby for this year ;)  Thankfully, we went to Target earlier in the week and got a little bunny outfit for Ellary's first Easter ;)

We've survived two weeks pretty well - the hubs has one more week off of work and then he returns and this chick will be solo!  Here's to hoping the next week doesn't fly by too fast!
